Great people never die, their fragrance is felt very long after they leave the physical world. One such icon and visionary was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A Patriot par excellence and the leader of the masses and classes Sardar Patel has been hailed as a leader and a great patriot. The idea was to infuse in the young future generation with values integrated with the knowledge and adoration about the country’s rich heritage. Special Assembly was conducted in praise of the veteran at Ira International School, Butibori
Nagpur.
India is a secular country with diversified cultures and the significances in their own kind. A throng of activities were organized to support the cause of promoting unity and celebrating “National Unity Day” in the school premises.. A special morning assembly was organized. The programme started by garlanding the portrait of Vallabhai Patel by Principal Ms. Manisha Sathe. Speech was given by the students on the life, history and the role of Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle to establish a harmonious society. A Collaborative pledge on Peace and Solidarity was administered by the teachers and the students to preserve unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Mrs. Manisha Sathe, Principal, of the school in her speech wished that the students should maintain the country’s unity and integrity, Sadar Vallabhbhai Patel was instrumental in the integration of the princely states into the Indian Union. This day encourages unity among variety by serving as a reminder of the significance of national integration.

SPELLING BEE
INTERSCHOOL COMPETITION 2023 |

The Spelling Bee competition is a great way to get students into reading, writing expression, adding words to the active vocabulary. To instill the love for words, Ira International School conducted Inter school Spelling Bee Competition on 8th August 2023 to celebrate school’s Foundation Day at the Scientific Hall Laxmi Nagar,
Nagpur.
Spelling Bee Competition is a wonderful fun way to instill love for words into students also creating awareness of the possibilities of using different words in oral and written expression. The Spelling Bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell words. 27 schools with 291 students of class X participated in this iconic competition. The objective is to improve good spellings habits of the students, develop communication with accurate usage of words.
The competition was of four rounds. First round was the elimination round where students racked their brains to spell, to move on to the stage. The second round was synonym round. The third round was the pyramid round. In the final round the participants had to spell the words verbally once posed by the word master. The competition was tough because students were required to spell the words within 1 minute. Words like Dredge, Motley, Sobriquet Succour made the young participants use their spelling skills to the best of their capacities and get them right.
The eminent personality of the theatre and Assistant Professor of English & Director Coordinator , Research Centre at Hislop College Dr. Supantha Bhattacharya was the Judge who conducted all the rounds with incredible brilliance. His expertise and love for language has always helped the students and teachers to develop the taste of learning spellings and helped Spelling Bee competition touch the peak of success. The event started with inaugural lamp lighting and Sikkim folk dance was presented by Ira students.
The well known personality in the world of journalism, Mr. Vijay Phanshikar Editor, “The Hitavada” graced the event as Chief Guest. The eminent personalities from educational arena Mrs. Nisha Saraf , Director of CDS School, Mrs. Neeru Kapai , Mrs. Kana Roy Choudhari, Mrs Meghmala Dutta, Mrs Shahnoor Mirza, Mr. Rohan Kapai graced the event as special guests.
The Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Phanshikar in his address to the audience appreciated Ira International School’s efforts for conducting the competition & encouraging students to work on their vocabulary. Mr. Phanshikar said, words are the tools to create language and grammar is the root of language. He said “ No school pays attention to language. We should use correct words & language and words should be used properly suitable to the occasion”. Mr. Phanshikar said, many participants are not good readers & advised students to read at least 100 pages every day. Mr. Vijay Phanshikar appreciated the all the participants & saluted the winners
Dr Supantha, said Ira International School has been promoting and encouraging spelling skills through this competition. Dr Supantha advised students not to use acronyms and should improve spellings , when ever in doubt student should approach the teacher. He said, 1st friends are parents, 2nd friend is the teacher & 3rd friend is the internet. Dr Supantha said “ It is unprofessional to make spelling mistakes”. He also gave example of Mark Twain who was not a good speller.
Despite the tremendous pressure of final round, Amee Parihar of Centre Point School, Katol Road managed to secure the 1st position and was adjudged Winner of Spelling Bee 2023 and Anmol Bansal of Centre Point School Katol Road was adjudged Runner Up.

Education means preparation of the students for future. This preparation includes training them for to be prospective leaders. To help the students feel the sense of responsibility and keeping the tradition of the institution, new members of the students council Shriyansh Singh School Pupil Leader Boy , Anushka Tiwari School Pupil Leader Girl , Anurag Andhale School Head Boy, Yadnyavi Choudhari School Head Girl, Mayank Lakde School Vice-Captain, Kanupriya Sarkar Discipline Captain, Palak Sharma Sports Captain , Akash Shrivastava CCA Captain were blessed and guided by Honourable President of India Droupadi
Murmu. The most memorable moments of the visit were marked by the precious advice and appreciation by our honorable president who interacted with the students and enquired about their future goals and encouraged the students to establish further milestones in the journey of success..
Honourable President was delighted to meet them all and blessed the school flag and the new cabinet members for their future endeavour. For the students it was a remarkable remembrance for sharing space with the President of India. School’s President Mrs. Rimple Lohia extended her congratulations for the achievement of milestone and also to make parents and teachers feel proud in the future as well.

A significant event in the life of every student “Dikshant Ceremony” was
organised recentl by Ira International School for grade 12 students who
would be stepping out of school to independently embrace the world.
The ceremony was the celebration of students memorable school life
where they acquired knowledge and skills. The guests were escorted by
the school band. The ceremony started with prayer and Saraswati
Vandana which was performed by class 11 th students. Mr. Vijay Phanshikar, Editor “The Hitavada” graced the occasion as Chief
Guest. Mr. Hemant Bal , Site Head, Indorama Synthetics Pvt limited
graced the event as Guest of Honour with Mrs. Pradnya Bal who added
the charm in the evening with her presence. Mr. Rajesh Goyal, treasurer
, Ira International school was the special guest. The students were felicitated with tilak, Sash and Diya which was lit as a
symbol of light and success in their future endeavour. Students offered
flowers to Goddess Saraswati and took blessing after which students
took the oath, the exhortation was conducted by Principal Mrs. Manisha
Sathe.Students took blessings of teachers and their parents who were invited
to witness the ceremony and give their blessings to the children as they
come out of the protected wall of the school and are ready to face the

Best Out of Waste Inter School Competition |

Imagination and creativity are the traits that fuel the future. With this belief, Ira International School as every year organized “ Best Out of Waste Inter school Competition on 31 st January 2023. The theme was “Nurture Creativity, Best Out of Waste with Stones”. The competition received overwhelming response as 394 students from 19 schools participated in the competition. It was a treat to the eyes to see fabulous creative young minds showcasing their imaginations with spell bound colours and making the stones speak. The competitors were divided into 4 Categories, with different sizes of stones.
Grade 1 students of Category A painted small round stones as Fruits & Vegetables to form Paper Weights. Cherries, oranges strawberries painted by the tiny tots spoke of their imaginative skills.
Grade 2 3 and 4 students of category B were asked to paint stones to form insects to be kept in the garden. Ants & bugs on stones looked pretty. In category C students of grade 5 6 7 formed Animals & Birds to be used as a decorative piece. Owl, Lion, Cat & Giraffe with sharp expressions came lively on stones. Category D was for grade 8 and 9.Students painted beautiful Landscape. The landscapes depicting day & night, water falls & greenery mesmerized the judges. A variety of multi graded paints , smooth rocks and stones were used by the students to finish their decorated items. All the categories were separately judged by the judges Mr. Dnyaneshwar Ramchandra Misal and Mr. Dipak G. Pachang the renowned personalities who excel in the field of Arts. The teacher in charges also to got hands on experience of making dream catchers and spent quality time exploring their own talent. Mrs. Sujata Girdhar Art & Craft teacher of Ira guided them. The event was led by Mr. Gajendra Chaudhari, Senior Art Teacher of the school. As every year students of Ira International School participated separately for “Best out of Waste” in their CCA period and were judged separately. President of the school, Mrs Rimple Lohia congratulated the staff for the successful

The newly elected cabinet members were awarded with badges and sashes with the hands of Principal Mrs. Manisha Sathe making them release that they were on the journey with responsibilities. SPELLING BEE 2022-2023
Spelling forces the brain to synthesize its knowledge of a word to reconcile how the word sounds, how it looks. Spelling Bee Competition an endeavour to instil love for words into kids also creating awareness of the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression. Ira International School conducted Inter School Spelling Bee Competition on 8thAugust 2022 on it’s Foundation Day at Scientific Hall Nagpur. The Spelling Bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty. 31 schools with 300 students of class X participated in this iconic competition. The main objective is to improve vocabulary of children as they get exposed to root words with varied difficulty and also learn accurate usage of words, develops confidence as they are required to spell the words on the stage. The participants develop ability to thrive under pressure.
The competition was of four rounds. First round was the elimination round where 300 students brains racked to spell, to move on to the stage. The second round was synonym round. The third round was the pyramid round. In the final round the participants had to spell the words verbally once posed by the word master. The competition was tough because students were required to spell the words within one minute. Words like Alopecia, Micawber, Entourage, Juggernaut, Integument made the young spellers their brains to get them right.

The Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Phanshikar in his address to the audience said it was a great learning experience to witness the Spelling Bee, Mr. Phanshikar said, “Books are the honey combs. Newer and newer words are added in the language and 8 to 10 new words of not only English but also of Marathi Hindi get added in the dictionary every year.” Mr Phanshikar said, “The enthusiasm of participation in spelling Bee is not for prizes but because of creation of culture of excellence that is visible in the contest.”
Despite the tremendous pressure of this final round Tanay Gandhi of Bhavan’s B.P Vidya Mandir, Trimurti Nagar managed to beat his competitor to secure the 1st place as the Winner of Spelling Bee 2022. Anay Jhawar of Centre Point School Katol Road was adjudged Runner Up.
Principal, Mrs. Manisha Sathe thanked the Principals of the participating schools near and far for their active participation and also thanked the dignitaries for their motivational presence.

E-CENTUNES COMPETITION |
Every opportunity given to students to explore and discover brings out success in them. Ira International School, students displayed their musical talent in the recently held E-Centunes competition, hosted by
Center Point School, Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur 2020-2021. Singing Competition theme was in two categories
Category 1 - Class 4 th -8 th , Indian Music ( Hindi ) solo and duet. Theme for the Competition was Light and Semi-Classical.
Category 2 - Class 9 th - 12 th Western Music (English) solo and duet. The students presented a variety of songs to be send as video for the competition.
The following students participated Ms. Shruti Bhagat, Ms. Yoganshika Surkar, Ms. Sejal Raut, Ms. Vidyalaxmi, Ms. Tanushree Dongre, Ms. Sanskruti Jichkar, Ms. Shital Raulo and Mst. Aman Naik.
The children
sang the songs with lot of passion, confidence and zeal. Ms. Shital Raulo was selected for the finals and bagged the second position, she sang the solo Semi Classical song. School Principal, Mrs. Manisha Sathe congratulated and wished her success. |

Ira International School celebrated the joyous occasion of the birthday of two great patriots Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri with great zeal and splendor. The programme began with a melodious prayer song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram “ by class 2 students Arnavi and Medhasvi followed by inspirational thought by Mayank Lakde of 8 th B. Since the occasion marks the birth of two national heroes, Sayukta Sakharkar of class 9 th and Shaswat Joshi of class 9 th began with a speech about the inspiring live of our Former Prime Minister Honble Shri Lal Bahadur Shastriji and our Father of Nation Gandhiji about his sacrifices he has made for the freedom of the country. “Vaiṣṇava jana to tene kahiye” the famous hymn which says that a true human is one who feels the pain of others, removes misery and is never arrogant. The world bows to you, beloved Bapu!” was sung beautifully by Ira coir group. On this occasion Mrs. Manish Sathe School’s Principal urged all to adapt simple life and high thinking life style, she further said to be honest, calm, humble, polite, which will definitely help you all to reach your destination and also told the students to follow these ideals of the great people. Mrs Seema then presented a song “Vande Mataram “ that awakened every one’s feeling and respect for these two great leaders. The event got concluded by the vote of thanks by Neha Talokar of class 10 th and the programme was conducted by Anjali Ambadare of 9 th Std.

14 September is celebrated as Hindi Day in whole India. Hindi has always
been a respectable language on the world panel. Hindi language
pronunciation is considered a scientific language based on the place,
every letter of which is written as it is spoken. Hindi language also works
to connect India with artistic forms in different forms. Hindi language
can be presented in entertaining form due to its different genres. Some
intellectual students of our school have presented different genres on the
basis of their consciousness for Hindi Diwas, a glimpse of their skills and
expressed their respects towards Hindi language by wishing all over
India on Hindi Day. |

“Creativity is intelligence having fun”, this was proved so true when as every year Ira International School organized its Annual “Best Out of Waste” competition. This year the competition was organized on 31st January 2020 & theme was “ Nurture creativity and let it blossom beautifully. Best out of waste with old plastic items and jute”. The idea behind organizing the competition is to stimulate and encourage the creative talent and develop interest of the students and to convert waste materials into useful products by using cost free items and use of recyclable things. The competition was open to students of classes I-IX. 764 students from 27 schools of Nagpur participated in the competition .
The competitors were divided into 4 categories. Category A for class 1, was asked to make a creative bowl, Category B for class2 and 3, students had to make a creative pen holder, Category C classes 4,5 and 6, the item was A creative wall hanging, Category D for classes 7th, 8th and 9th, were asked to make a creative flower vase.
A variety of reusable and recyclable materials and waste items like old news paper, tissue paper, bangles, jute rope, ice-cream stick, lace, sequences, beads, ribbons, wires, bangles, caps and straws,Card board, Paper plates, spoons disposable glass, Pens and refills, Old CDs, DVDs Tooth picks, match box, matchsticks, Dry Pista shell, foil paper, Jute rope, Plastic bottles, Strings etc were used to give shape to the varied items .
Students used their imagination and creativity to make innovative things. All these things which are waste in our day to day life were used in constructive manner and variety of things were made from them.
All the categories of the participants were separately judged by the judges, Ms. Shilpa Joshi and Ms. Kunda Zade who have excelled in the field of Fine arts, Arts & Craft.
Each of the creative item prepared by the students was a treat to the eyes The creative hands and imaginary minds came together in a creative burst of energy beyond expectation. This also made the selection process extremely difficult for the judges. The teachers of participating schools accompanying the students got to share their artistic talent as they too had a great time participating in drawing especially arranged for them by Mrs. Pragati Gawade, In charge of the event.
As every year Students of Ira International school participated separately in Best Out of Waste in their CCA period and were judged separately. The Participating students were given return gifts as a token of appreciation.

A day filled with fervour, sportsmanship, excitement, and cheers
amongst the four houses red,blue, green and yellow Ira International
School hostedits Sports Meet on the 3 rd December 2019 based on the
theme conservation of resources, the five elements Agni, Jal,
Prithvi, Akash and Vayu well described. The Chief Guest for the day Mr.Subhash
Rewatkar, Deputy Director Sports Youth and Service, Nagpur was
welcomed by the school captain. The host of Dignitaries graced the
occasion. The sports meet opened with the lightning of the torch,
release of the balloons and pigeons. The torch was carried by the
National State Level Hockey player Ms Prerna Bodke, Ms Himanshi
Gawande, Ms Sharvari Kumbhare and Ms Jyuthika Bodke, Boys Hockey
team under 15 Mst Sai Tulankar secured third position at divisional
level, Mst Jaidev Nair100mt athlete event divisional level, Mst Aman
Dhyani secured second place in long jump district level, Mst Ankit
Dwiwedi second place in district level Javeline Throw, Mst Aditya
Sharma first place in Javeline Throw district level , Ms Anjali Barewar
under 14 played for CBSE tournament divisional and district level, Mst
Kaushik Ingole under 14 secured place in DPS interschool tournament
and third position at Achievers interschool football championship and
reached to quarterfinals at reliance football tournament. Ms Trisha
Pendam under 14 is in the second position at the achievers interschool
football tournament, Mst Malhar Gawade played for under 17 football
winner of the interschool district level football tournament and Mst
Aditya Yadav under 19 football team the runner up at school game
federation of India. Lastly the torch was carried by Ms Himanshi
Gawande the under 17 Khelo India khelo champ.
The students participated impressively in the various drills and
displayed a wide array of colourful and vibrant events. Therapeutic
Yoga and Suryanamaskar by the V and VI, Class I and II performed the
Mass PT on Lezim and Dumb bells ClassVII and VIII showed their skill on
Zumba and Bokwa. Races for different distances were Balancing jungle,
Balance Diet Race, Jelly fish Race, Dove race, planting trees, Tricycle
Race and yoga station. The students mesmerised the audience with
their energetic performances. Christmas was celebrated by sugar plum
students.March past increased the grace of the event performed by all
the four houses of school. The discipline trophy was given to the red
and the blue house, the CCA trophy was bagged to the yellow house,
Themarch mast and the over all trophy was bagged by the green house.
Dr.Lavneet Kaur Randhava, Mr.Surendra Ugale and Mr.Saikat Joardar
judged the drills. The Chief Guest distributed the prizes to the winners, In his address he
stated to all the children to be part of games along with their studies
and to physically and mentally stay healthy.The School’s President Mrs
Rimple Lohia congratulated and applauded the students effort for
putting up a fantastic show. Principal Mrs. Reena Dargan declared the
meet closed and read out the note of thanks. Sheadvised the children
to keep up their sportsman spirit and wished all the best for their
upcoming ventures.Lastly the school band left the audience enthralled. |

at Bishop Cotton School recently. The students took part in all the
four category’s of event as Poster making, Debate, Model making
and Power Point Presentation.

the poster making where they received 1000 rupees as cash prize,

Yoga Day |
It was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline in
students and teachers as on the occasion of International Yoga
Day, Ira International School students performed various yoga asana like the Pranayam, Vajrasana, Supta -
Vajarasana, Bhujangasana, Shalbhasana, Ardha- Shalphasna and others
under the guidance of the sports teacher Mr. Shahid Bux and Ms Sneha Kamble . The students got the chance to know how
Yoga embodies unity of mind and body.

their seniors x and xii during a farewell party recently. A farewell party was organized at school premises where all the seniors
and juniors had a lot of fun together. The seniors received a warm welcome by the juniors as they entered
wearing elegant attire.
The programme began with the juniors performances. The juniors
enthusiastically performed songs on pepi numbers for the seniors.
The programme then was followed with the group dance performances
where the juniors gave outstanding performances on traditional and
modern Hindi movies songs. The School authority created an ambiance of enjoyment and music for
the students to enjoy their last memories in the school by arranging a
musical troupe performed by the Taurance Academy they also sang the
good bye songs which again created an ambiance full with emotions.
Further, the students danced on the tune of the DJ music had a
delicious dinner and clicked selfie at the selfie zone created by the
juniors.
As the performances were so splendid, it followed with the title
distribution as Singing sensation, Mr Cool, Proud Lion and Master
Decent.
Principal Mrs Reena Dargan guided the students and asked them to do
their best and face life challenges with confidence . Other faculty members wished all the students luck and well being for
their future endeavours. The programme was anchored by Master Prajwal Kamble, Shamitha Shetty and Bharati
Israni. The vote of thanks was proposed by Tanya Tripathi under the guidance
of Ms Thelma Soloman and Mrs Prajakta Kajgirekar . Every child is
potentially the light of the world and Ira is going to miss them.
